Plastic Waste Collection Drive - 8th - 17th December 2022

Objective:

• To sensitize people towards the need to reuse and recycle plastic waste.
• To help the cause by collection of waste from households and donating it to the NGO for recycling.

DLLE unit of Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce Economics organized a plastic waste collection drive by collecting waste from the residents of Govt. Colony adjoining the College. The activity was done in collaboration with NGO ReCirle.  Door-to-door intimation regarding the collection was done one week prior to the drive, asking residents to k=collect and keep the waste ready for donation. on 16th & 17th the volunteers again went to the residents and collected the waste material, which was then donated to NGO ReCorcle. A total of 2272 Kg of waste was collected and donated to them.

Outcome:

• People were made aware for the need to recycle plastic waste.
• Waste collected was donated to the NGO which would further be used to make products, providing a livelihood the underprivileged people.
