Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension is established by Mumbai University under the guidance of Dr. Dilip Patel for making learning life long process.This department of Life - long learning and extension was established in our college in the year 2008 to sensitize the students towards socio- cultural realities . Since that year all the students who are enrolling for this program are getting the benefit of 10 additional marks, certificate and an opportunity to know the socio cultural realities through the extension activities .From its modest beginning in 2008 the no of students benefited from this program are increasing every year . Every year approximately 200 students are enrolled under DLLE unit of our college. The students participating in Extension work under this Department are entitled to the benefit of 10 additional marks on the satisfactory completion of 120 hours of work under various Extension work projects. Various types of Extension work projects are being offered by the department under the two different units. Students can opt for any one project and start the work and activity.

A. Vocational career oriented projects:

  1. Career project: this project enables a student to learn the interview technique, method of collecting information and to know about the job market of the career being explored
  2. Anna Poorna Yojana: this activity has been designed to encourage the students to try their hand at entering the field of small scale business.
  3. The Industry Orientation Project: the industry orientation project is a vocational career oriented program for empowering students with marketable work skills so as to increase his/her employability.
  4. Information Technology Project: enable the students to develop good knowledge in computers.

B. Community Oriented Projects:

  1. Population Education Club: it widens the student’s mental horizon through beliefs and prejudices being overcome when exposed to socio cultural realities.
  2. Status of Women in Society: to facilitate the students and college to obtain basic data about the status of women in the area.
  3. National Institute of Open Schooling: to create awareness about the concept of open schooling. To spread the message of NIOS.

Students can opt different projects according to their choices and conduct the activities like survey, campaign, street play, presentation and interviews as per the requirement.

Under these projects the Unit conducts different activities every year.
