Present on the occasion were the keynote Speaker Dr. Chitralekha Vaidya CEO of Varshasookt Pvt. Ltd., who delivered her keynote address on Waste management. In her address on the pandemic, COVID-19 she said urbanization and pandemic has a very close relation especially in a city like Mumbai where the density of population is very challenging in itself. She commented that a smart city does not mean having 5G and 6G internet networks but creating a sustainable society by eliminating the carbon footprints. Resources remain the same but the population is increasing by leaps and bound. In the next session Professor Dr. Anil Gupta observed that   neither pandemics nor disasters are new. They have been taking place all around the world. Our great economy naturally has been affected by great lockdown. Resilience is the state to bounce back after the crisis and disaster are over. There has been recession all over the world but fortunately, our economy did not get that effected in comparison to the world economies. But it is also a time for all of us to think local self-reliance, to look for new opportunities. Every Industry has to have disaster management so that during crises it is not disrupted completely. Even in agriculture rather than depending on one type people have to think about alternative farming too. In the Medical sector too, the focus should be shifted from clinical to evolutionary and community level medicines and accordingly, in every segments self-reliance is the only answer. Concluding his speech, he said the best response to any pandemic and crises are : Resolve, Resilience, Return, Rethink and Relook. The Valedictory session was addressed by Dr. Rajveer Sharma, former Professor of Delhi University. In his valedictory address he covered all aspects of development from Medical to Technology and Engineering to Education, Research and Administration with complete accountability and ethics without which the actual development cannot be achieved. The session ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Vinay Pandit.
