- To give them a chance to learn teamwork and benefits of team spirit first hand by putting together the celebration for their teachers.
Brief report of the activity
Guru Purnima is an age old tradition deeply rooted in the Indian ethos whereby the students would honour their teachers thanking them for the valuable contribution made by the teachers in their lives. Times have changed but student-teacher relationship still remains the way it has always been and therefore the students of BFM Department decided to honour their teaching & non-teaching faculty as a gesture of gratefulness & recognition of their contribution in their lives. The students decorated the
staffroom and gave flowers & greeting cards to the faculty members and also cut cake & served refreshments to all. The students of BFM Department also recited Sanskrit shlokas and took the blessing of the teachers. It was a humbling experience for the students and a happy occasion for the teachers on being honoured & recognized on the special day
Total 58 students attended the event from BFM Department of which 26 were females and 32 were males
Outcome of the program
- The teachers got a taste of the love, affection and gratitude the students have towards them as their “gurus”
- The students also got a chance to understand the depth of the “guru-shishya” tradition and developed an appreciation for the same
The motivation levels of the students was visibly enhanced as the teachers also expressed their gratitude to the students for the love and honor showered on them by the students.
