- To push their thinking towards various innovative solutions by which the present environmental destruction can be prevented.
- To make them pledge their allegiance towards ensuring that they will contribute their bit towards creating a sustainable and liveable world for the future
Brief report of the activity
The BFM Department, with a view to creating more awareness among the student community of various colleges in Mumbai, about the importance of conservation of nature and the natural habitats made by nature, decided to celebrate World Nature Conservation Day by holding a series of competitions for the students which would awaken their enthusiasm towards the core topic and also lead to some learning about the importance of nature, by way of research undertaken by them for taking part in the
competitions. Competitions for students included (a) Essay Writing (b) Photography (c) Best out of Waste (d) Poster Making. The competition saw very enthusiastic response from more than 260++ students in various categories from colleges all across Mumbai and some from colleges across Maharashtra as well. Entries submissions were kept open from 28th July to 5th Aug 2022. E-Certificates were issued to all participants and the winners of the various competitions received special certificates of merit
Outcome of the program
- The point of the program was to drive home the message of conservation of nature in the minds of the students and the event was successful at making this particular impact in the minds of the students
- The students came up with various innovative ideas and solutions towards creating a more sustainable environment without compromising on the developmental aspects of mankind
The event managed to create several environmental loyalists among the participating students who realized the gravity of the present situation and promised to do everything possible to turn around the depreciating situation existing at present.
