Objectives of the program:
- The main objective of the online seminar was to create an understanding in the minds of the students about the working of the stock markets in
- To create an understanding in the minds of the students about the role of intermediaries in the functioning of the stock
- To show the real picture about the stock markets to the students through a professional’s viewpoint rather than letting them believe in
Brief report of the activity
The BFM Department in collaboration with the BAF & BBI departments in association with BSE organized an online seminar on the Working of Stock Markets. The Resource Person from BSE was Mr. Kaushal Mishra. The resource persons enlightened the students on various concepts such as working of stock exchanges, working of brokers, trading accounts, demat accounts, risk management, KYC norms of clients, investment vs speculation, etc.
The students were very enthusiastic and participated whole heartedly and asked a number of questions which were handled deftly by the resource person.
Overall it was a good learning experience for the students.
Total 26 students attended the seminar from BFM Department of which 6 were females and 20 were males.
Outcome of the program
- Through the seminar, the students got to learn about the practical aspects of the working of the stock
- The students also understood the roles played by various intermediaries in the overall functioning of the stock
The students also learnt about the contribution of SEBI in the Indian context.
