Objectives of the program:
- The main objective of the online seminar was to impart an understanding in the minds of the students about mutual funds as an avenue of investment for the ordinary.
- The seminar also intended to make the students aware of the different categories and types of mutual funds available and also to give them a glimpse into the pattern of working behind the various companies who float these mutual.
Brief report of the activity
The third in the series of seminars in association with BSE was on Mutual Funds. Mutual funds being a very attractive and most favored investment avenue, the knowledge about the same is sadly lagging behind among the investors in India and hence this seminar served a valuable function of creating awareness among the students about the nitty-gritties of mutual funds as an investment avenue.
Resource person Mr. Kaushal Mishra covered details about mutual funds – the different types, the working of mutual funds, their advantages, their role in wealth creation, the SIP facility, the mutual fund industry scenario, etc.
Total 26 students attended the seminar from BFM Department of which 6 were females and 20 were males.
Outcome of the program
- The seminar was able to fill in the missing blanks in the minds of the students who had an incomplete idea about the mutual fund.
- The students understood the real fundamentals behind the functioning of the mutual fund.
- The students also learnt about the various rules and regulations which govern the mutual funds and the role of SEBI in monitoring.
