Objectives of the program:
- The main objective of the online seminar was to impart an understanding in the minds of the students about the concept of derivatives and the various products available under
- The seminar also intended to make the students aware of the functioning of the derivatives market and throw a light on the risk and returns associated with it.
Brief report of the activity
The last in the series of seminars in association with BSE was on the topic of Derivative Markets.
Derivatives are instruments about which not much is known and they are highly risky but profitable investment avenues when done with proper knowledge.
The resource person Mr. Kaushal Mishra from BSE explained these complicated terminologies in simple & lucid language and the students were able to grasp the same quite easily and gained valuable knowledge from this seminar.
Total 26 students attended the seminar from BFM Department of which 6 were females and 20 were males
Outcome of the program
- The seminar was very informative and helped the students to understand a difficult concept like derivatives and the derivatives
- The students understood the different products like futures, options, etc under the derivatives
The students also gained an appreciation about the risks and returns associated with this market.
